Outreach Program on Anti-Doping in Conjunction With Malaysia Unesco Day 2019
In conjunction with Malaysia UNESCO Day and National Sports Month 2019, the Anti-Doping Agency of Malaysia (ADAMAS) and the Pharmacy Department of Kuala Lumpur, Ministry of Health (MOH) had organized Outreach Program on Anti-Doping on 12th October 2019 in Sports City, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. The program was part of the awareness campaign which was co-funded by Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO and aimed to raise awareness and understanding on danger of doping, consequences on public health as well as creating awareness to public on risk of unregistered food supplements.
Having 111 participants from various background (public and private sector), sports federations and sports community who were participating actively in all activities which organized during the exhibition. All of them gained an information about ADAMAS core business, anti-doping rules and values and also addition information on how to know better about medication/ medicine. Apart from that, the participants also get informed about testing and education programs run by ADAMAS to maintain a fair play and pure performance sport in our country. For those who visited ADAMAS’ booth, they also gained information on effects of adulterated drugs contains in food supplement in the market which could affect the public health.
This event gave a strong network amongst booth exhibitors such as staff of Ministry of Youth and Sport (KBS), Ministry of Health (MOH), National Academy of Arts Culture and Heritage (ASWARA), NGOs and other public sectors. On top of that, this event served as a platform for both participants and exhibitors to exchange opinions and experience involving athletes and doping issues to achieve clean and zero tolerance on doping in sport.
