Permanent Sub-Comittee for Natural Resources (JKTSA) was established on 27 November 2018 under the newly established Ministry of Water, Land and Natural Resources (KATS). JKTSA is responsible to review and to coordinate UNESCO related programs and activities. JKTSA plays the following roles:
- directly involved in the programs and activities organized by UNESCO and its subsidiaries;
- coordinate UNESCO-related issues related to natural resources such as biodiversity, forestry, mineral and geoscience; and
- manage and participate in meetings of Permanent Sub-Committee, Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO (SKUM) involving Natural Resources, Man and the Biosphere reserves, and Geo-parks in Malaysia.
