Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO (MNCU), the Creative Media & Technology Hub of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Tun Abdul Razak Library proudly organised the UiTM-UNESCO International Jazz Day Celebration 2025 on 30 April 2025. This celebration marked Malaysia’s active participation in UNESCO’s global initiative to honour jazz as a symbol of peace, diversity, and dialogue.
The event was officiated by Mr. Ahmadul Mokhtar bin Mohd Hayani, Executive Secretary of the MNCU, who underscored the significance of Jazz not only as and expression of creativity, but also in education and leadership, particularly on empowering adaptability, inventiveness, independent thinking, and teamwork.
One of the main features of the programme was a talk entitled “Jazz as a Blueprint & Leadership”, which explored the ways in which jazz improvisation reflects innovative leadership practices.
The celebration continued with an energetic jazz performance by lecturers and students from the Creative Media & Technology Hub, showcasing the rich talent and collaborative spirit nurtured within UiTM’s College of Creative Arts.
