Natural World Heritage Sites
Malaysia is home to two remarkable Natural World Heritage Sites, celebrated for their outstanding universal value, rich biodiversity, and conservation importance.

Kinabalu National Park, Sabah (2000)
Kinabalu Park in Sabah has an exceptional array of naturally functioning ecosystems, displayed by diverse biota, high endemism and rapid evolutionary rates, and also contains floristically species-rich and identified as a globally significant Centre of Plant Endemism, where there are an estimated 5,000 – 6,000 vascular plant species.

Gunung Mulu National Park, Sarawak (2000)
Gunung Mulu Park in Sarawak offers exceptional natural beauty with striking forests, mountains, waterfalls, and the largest caves on earth, such as the Sarawak Chamber. The park also showcases the Earth's geological history. The site also displays abundant ecological processes and bio diversities. Millions of cave swiftlets have been recorded from one cave system, constituting the largest colony in the world.
