UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN)

The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) is a global initiative launched by UNESCO in 2004 to promote cooperation among cities that have identified creativity as a key factor in their sustainable urban development. The network focuses on fostering innovation, culture, and creativity across different sectors, including arts, crafts, design, media, music, literature, and gastronomy. Malaysia is proud to have several cities recognized as part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Kuching, Sarawak - Creative City of Gastronomy (2021)

Lenggong Geopark is a hidden gem in Hulu Perak, encompassing the sub districts of Kenering, Lenggong, Temelong, and Durian Pipit. This extraordinary region, shaped by the deposition of Sungai Perak, forms a valley nestled between two imposing granite mountain ranges—the Titiwangsa Range to the east and the Bintang Range to the west. Over 80% of the area is composed of granite rock, aged between 220 and 210 million years, a legacy of the Late Triassic period.
