The Ulam School

The UNESCO Chair on Intercultural Communication and Social Communication, anchored at the Institute of Ethic Studies (KITA), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia has developed Ulam School’s e-platform. The initial objective is to provide basic but solid information (meaning scientifically verified) information on Ulam-ulam in Malaysia and beyond, so users of the website can make informed choices about buying and accommodating ulam for healthier eating, thus modestly contributing to combat health and lifestyle disorders in the region, and most particularly in Malaysia.

A first set of botanical data (Malaysian ulam-ulaman: twenty-three (23) samples) has been uploaded on the Plants database section of the Ulam School’s e-platform (i.e., website).Other features:
• E-Cookbook of 15 recipes
• Videos (ethnographic account, cooking tutorial, webinars)
• Pressbook (Newsfeed)
