Permanent Sub-Committee for Natural Resources and Environment (JKTSA) under the newly established Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC). JKTSA is responsible to review and to coordinate UNESCO related programs and activities. JKTSA plays the following roles:

1. directly involved in the programs and activities organized by UNESCO and its subsidiaries;
2. coordinate UNESCO-related issues related to natural resources such as biodiversity, forestry, mineral and geoscience; and
3. manage and participate in meetings of Permanent Sub-Committee, Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO (SKUM) involving Natural Resources, Man and the Biosphere reserves, biodiversity, and Geo-parks in Malaysia.
