Secretariat Symposium

On 14 -16 April 2017, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) hosted the 1st Public Universities’ UNESCO Leader Secretariat Symposium. This event was the first to be held in Malaysia involving representatives from 10 public universities across Malaysia.

The programme aims to gather the presidents and members of the universities’ UNESCO Club which consist of students from various public universities in Malaysia. Utilising this platform, participants were given the chance to express their thoughts and ideas through the Special Project presentation session. The programme also aims to familiarise the students to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted during the 70th Session of the General Assembly last 2015.

The Malaysian National Commission (NATCOM) for UNESCO took part by sharing with the students on how UNESCO helps to implement the SDGs through education, natural sciences, social sciences, culture, communication and information. Special emphasise was given on how the students themselves can help with the SDGs, and how it will benefit the students’ community in the long run. Mr. Khairul Adib bin Abd Rahman, the Secretary – General of the Malaysian NATCOM during the session, commended the students for their efforts in making the network of concentrated cooperation between the participating public universities. займ без отказа оренбургзайм онлайн с 19 летзайм 50 тысяч на карту
